Its been ages since my last post and a lot has changed since then. I’m now the Reporter/Photographer for the Moose Jaw Times-Herald, which has definitely been a learning experience. Alas, I’ve decided to get back to doing some portraits outside of the photojournalism job to continue expanding the portfolio and have some fun.
Here’s a few shots from a session we did in the very own Times-Herald morgue a short time ago. I couldn’t not find a way to photograph these old print press relics decaying in the basement. Fellow reporter Myles Fish volunteered for the shots. I used a beauty dish on an ab800 as a main light for this series and a second ab800 with an umbrella for a little separation in just a few of the images. I wanted try and recreate the kind of gloomy environment these old Linotype’s might have one day been in, or maybe just the 1940’s film I imagined them in..
I’m hoping to continue updating this site more and more often as I continue to shoot more, have some fun and hopefully make some solid shots.
Cheers.
